Axon is one of the main protagonists of the movie, The Holy Mountain. One of the companions of the Alchemist and his disciple, the Thief who represents the Fool Tarot Card, who tries to find the Holy Mountain alongside other 7 most influential yet materialistic figures in the country that represents other planets to obtain the secret of immortality, Axon also works as a chief of the police and represents the Planet «Neptune».
Despite being one of the protagonists that accompany The Alchemist and the Thief in their quest of searching the Holy Mountain as he ended up becoming one of the Alchemist’s disciples, Axon is one of the most villainous of the planetary representatives alongside the likes of Isla, Sel and Berg due to his cult of personality that he created surrounding him and the brutal treatment against the innocent civilians who are rioting as he has no hesitations to have his forces violently excecuted them on a whim.
He is portrayed by Richard Rutowski.
Appearance
Axon at first appears as a man with a rather skimpy BDSM clothing, a brown mohawk hair and wears an iron jaw that nearly resembles a helmet. At one point, he wears a short blue cape, a black helmet that almost looks like a Rome Soldier helmet, a green and yellow sleeveless yet skimpy shirt with no pants that complements his BDSM clothing and yellow and green boot. During his job as an executor of the rioters, he wears a black-greenish modest military costume in contrast to his soldiers who were shirtless and has his symbol tattooed on their chest.
During the meeting with The Alchemist and the Thief in the Alchemist’s building, Axon wears a leather outfit that has a color of his skin and a leather boots. After throwing his self-image and pledges his allegiance to the Alchemist in order to discover immortality, Axon wears a brown robe and a brown headscarf—and at one point, a brown puritan hat—just like the other Alchemist’s disciples excluding the Alchemist himself. At one point, when attempting to depart to Lotus Island to search for the Holy Mountain, he had his outfit bare his chest alongside the other Alchemist’s male disciples and when they are on boat that heads to Lotus Island, he wears a turquoise shirt, headscarf and black pants much like the other disciples.
After arriving at the Lotus Island, Axon had his hair to be shaven bald alongside the other disciples of the Alchemist in order to climb The Holy Mountain. While attempting to climb the Holy Mountain, he wears a blue jacket and blue pants and at one point, wear a blue and white checkered headscarf and a white goggle alongside the other disciples. As he encounters his worst fears and obsession, Axon appears as a half-naked man who wears jeans and a belt.
Personality
During his time as a Police Chief, Axon can be described as a guy obsessed on building a cult of personality that surrounds only himself as he held a brutal initiations for the potential new members to join his cult by cutting their testicles in order to complete his collection. At the same time however, Axon seems to respect his new members that joined his cult and calling them heroes for their bravery to handle the brutal initiations.
Axon is also a man who relishes on violence, having no issue letting his forces slaughtered several rioters while he also commit acts of violence itself. His violent tendencies can be further cemented where he traveled through the Holy Mountain in order to fight his worst desires where he saw two dogs fighting with each other as he encouraged them by playing with his drum.
After he pledged his allegiance to the Alchemist to aid his quest to search for the Holy Mountain for immortality alongside other powerful figures, Axon has no hesitations to burn his own money and being the first person who burn his effigy that portrays a self-image due to the fact that he already achieved his goal to maintain his cult of personality. In the end, after liberating himself from his worldly desires and self-image, Axon genuinely forms a genuine bond with the Alchemist and his disciples during their journey through the Holy Mountain while also at one point, helping one of the disciples to not give up climbing by suggesting to rub her clitoris against the Mountain to gave herself to the world as she agrees with the suggestion.
Biography
Axon was first introduced by trying to perform a brutal initiation ritual towards a brand new member that wanted to join the forces as he was bounded to a table while Axon rides a horse surrounding the new member as the crowds jeered at Axon’s name. After he brought a rather huge gun for the ritual, he then shaved the new member’s pubic hair before Axon castrate his testicle as the new member screamed in pain.
After the ritual is done, Axon then complimented the new member as he complimented his tenacious and courageous personality by joining the brutal ritual that other 999 heroes had passed as the new members surrendered his testicles towards him which completed his sanctuary of 1.000 testicles. After completing his collection, Axon then gave the newbie a holy book in order to make the latter worship and believe in Axon.
When the civilians instigated a riot, Axon and his forces then went into the crime scene and proceeds to mercilessly slaughtered them beginning with the explosion that he and his forces implemented while also proceed to spill a tear gas and red paint towards the rioters. As the rioters were slaughtered, several weird things such as chicken, red ribbon or candies coming out from the rioters dead body as their source of life were trampled by Axon’s forces. At one point, it is shown that Axon also decapitates a man’s body. After the brutal massacre, Axon then read a book in front of the dead civilians as if he was praying towards them. After the deed is done, Axon and his forces returns to his sanctuary as his followers chanted his name.
Even in the beginning parts of the movie, the brutality of Axon’s forces still didn’t end there as they were shown mercilessly slaughtered innocent civilians to the point that several weird things such as black ink and birds coming out from the body while also bringing several bloody corpses of flayed lizards as they marched on the City Streets with the tourists felt apathetic towards the violence that has plagued in the country. At one point, one of Axon’s forces attempts to rape a female tourist despite said tourist doesn’t seem bothered by it due to the fact that Axon has already castrated their testicles which render them desperately impotent.
As Axon visits the Alchemist’s building alongside other 7 most influential yet materialistic figures in the country who will become the Alchemist’s new disciples by coming from a helicopter, the Alchemist then discussed about his quest of climbing the Holy Mountain that holds the secrets of Immortality with Nine Immortals living on top of it. Before they went into the journey to the mountain that was located in Lotus Island, the Alchemist then orders his new disciples including Axon to become an enlightened wise men by becoming a collective group in order to steal the secret of immortality from nine wise men easier.
As the Alchemist disciples attempt to form a collective group, they were then ordered to sacrifice their own individuality by burning their own money and their self-image in a form of effigy in which all of the disciples including Axon agreed to do so. Before they departed to Lotus Mountain, the Alchemist then instructs his disciples to various transformation rituals while also strengthening their collective personalities by surrendering themselves to death. At one point, Axon and the other disciples also participated in a funeral of one of their companions that had drowned by pouring the water to the ground and buried the bucket.
As the Alchemist and the Disciples depart to Lotus Island via a boat, Axon and the other disciples then helps the Alchemist to let out the monster that has been plaguing the Thief which is revealed to be a footless, handless dwarf that befriend the Thief in the beginning parts of the movie who represented the Five of Swords tarot card as the Alchemist ordered the Thief to throw the Dwarf into the water as it was a mere illusion. After arriving to Lotus Island, all of the disciples including Axon then shave their heads together while also getting distracted by the place known as Pantheon Bar which is a place where travelers across the world abandoned their quest to discover Holy Mountain and giving up to their worldly desires. However, the Alchemist and his other disciples decided to ignore the Pantheon Bar in the end and continue their journey.
As one of the Alchemist disciple, Isla complained that she could not go any step further, one of the disciples, Sel, then reprimanded Isla that her fear of climbing hinders her to go any step further instead of fear of falling as Sel assumed that Isla is afraid of success. This resulted in Axon suggesting Isla to rub her clitoris against the mountain in order to gave herself to the world in which Isla agrees.
After they reached the highest part of the Holy Mountain, the Alchemist’s disciples then encountered their worst fears and obsession in which Axon envisioned himself playing a drum while encouraging the dogs to fight against each other in which the Alchemist and the other disciples succeed to resist. As the disciples saw the immortals sitting from faraway, the Alchemist then suggest his disciples to meditate for 3 hours before attacking them which resulted in Axon asking the Alchemist about what will happen to him as the Alchemist responded his question by telling him that his disciples won’t need a master anymore because they can win the fight themselves while retreating with The Thief for a special gift just for the latter.
After all of the disciples encountered the immortals, it was then revealed that the immortals themselves were mannequins with the Alchemist revealed to be the ringleader of the journey which resulted in the disciples laughing hysterically. After confronting the alchemist, he then tells his disciples about the greatest secret which is revealed that they were in a movie all along while instructing his disciples to leave the Holy Mountain because real life awaits them.
Trivia
- According to the analysis of the Youtuber, Zoe, who analyzed the meaning of The Holy Mountain, Axon’s flashbacks and the deeds of his forces is supposed to be a social commentary of Police Brutality and how they were held as unquestioned gods while the massacre that he had committed is depicted as a social commentary about downplaying the horrifics of the massacre. Even the tourist in the movie is a social commentary about how callous other people can be towards violence as they see it as an everyday entertainment including the mainstream media. This makes sense due to the director, Alejandro Jodorowsky’s, upbringing after being oppressed by colonialism and police brutality during his childhood days.

Axone is a 2019 Indian comedy-drama film directed by Nicholas Kharkongor and produced by Yoodlee Films, Saregama India’s film division. The film stars Sayani Gupta, Vinay Pathak, Lin Laishram, Dolly Ahluwalia, Adil Hussain, Lanuakum Ao, Tenzin Dalha, and Rohan Joshi. The film follows Northeast Indian migrants in New Delhi, in their attempt to organize a wedding party.[3] The film premiered at the London Film Festival on 2 October 2019.[4]
Plot[edit]
The story tells of a group of migrants from Northeast India to Delhi, Upasana, Chanbi, and Zorem, who are trying to help their friend Minam with her wedding preparations. Minam, who shares a flat with Upasana, Chanbi, and others from their region, is called away suddenly for an interview. Meanwhile, her friends try to find an ingredient to make ‘Axone,’ a special dish that they want for the wedding. The friends face various difficulties as they attempt to plan the wedding and prepare Axone. The other tenants object and the landlord’s mother-in-law enforces her rule against parties or spicy cooking in the flat. They decide to hold the wedding at Chanbi’s boyfriend Bendang’s flat, but finding a way to cook Axone without drawing the attention of locals brings comical problems.
Shiv, the landlord’s son, and a friend of Zorem, lends his hand. His girlfriend breaks up with him when she sees him with Upasana, and later with Chanbi. As the wedding hour nears, the friends are discouraged at the thought of failing Minam (who has not yet returned). Zorem finally resolves to cook Axone on Upasana’s landlord’s terrace, and receives the landlord’s permission in spite of his mother-in-law. The friends manage to prepare the Axone just in time for the wedding.
The marriage begins with Minam opening a video conference with her groom and family at her native home. The friends had not realised it was a long-distance marriage, with the bride’s sister standing proxy in Minam’s place. They had gone through all the Axone trouble for a marriage that was not even happening in Delhi. After the wedding ceremony, Zorem proposes to Upasana and Chanbi decides to return to her native place with Bendang. Meanwhile, Bendang makes peace with a racist incident from his past. Finally, the friends treat themselves to Axone, while Shiv regrets that he can’t find any mainland Indian cuisine.

The film premiered at the London Film Festival on 2 October 2019 and made its debut in India at the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI) on 19 October 2019.[5] The film was released on Netflix on 12 June 2020.[1]

История повествует о рыжеволосой Кэндис (Дэйзи Аксон). Ей 12 лет, и ее жизнь еще полна таких же ярких, как ее волосы, красок и только начинает набирает обороты. Будучи умной, задорной и любознательной семиклассницей, она не производит впечатление подростка, у которого есть какие-то проблемы. Правда же в том, что дома у девочки дела обстоят откровенно плохо, а среди сверстников у Кэндис совсем нет друзей. Однако она не сильно переживает из-за школы. Пусть она может вызывать недоумение не только у одноклассников, но и у своей классной руководительницы мисс Бэмфорд (Мириам Маргулис), она верна себе и не позволяет мнению других людей влиять на свой внутренний мир. Потому что все, о чем она мечтает на данный момент, – это сделать свою семью снова счастливой. Ее родители все еще не пришли в себя после того, как несколько лет назад у Кэндис умерла младшая сестра. Теперь когда-то энергичная и полная жизни мама (Эмма Бут) практически не встает с постели, а отец, который последнее время испытывает финансовые трудности и больше не в силах справляться с депрессией жены, скрывается от своей семьи в подвале, где полностью погружается в работу за компьютером.
